It's A Senior World After All

The class of 1998 will moving on to college next year and a sigh of relief can be heard in senior hall. Applications are finished, most decisions are made, and finals have all been taken. A total of 407 applications were sent in to 100 schools in 28 different states. Students started applying to schools in the summer of 1997 and as of publication, the last application was sent in on May 6. One students applied to a total of 10 schools. Come fall, seniors will be moving to both coasts, Texas, South Carolina, Lincoln, Minnesota, and Indiana. Many students will also be staying in Omaha. The class of 1998 will be attending 41 schools in 15 different states. As of May 7, nine students were still undecided. Duke, Fordham, Hoffstra and Valaparasio are just some of the schools that the seniors will be the first Marian students to attend in recent years. R Students are applying to a wider variety of colleges, partially due to access on the internet,S said Mrs. Laura Gelecki, counselor. This yearUs seniors also have the most scholarships in recent years. It was required that the graduation program be redesigned in order to accommodate all of the scholarship information. I'm staying in Omaha, but I know that I can always look up my former classmates if I need them," said senior Robin Givens.
