
Once again, Marian's volleyball is on the go. The season officially began on Aug.11. This year, the program consists of 48 players ; 11 on the varsity team, nine on Junior Varsity, eight on reserve, and 20 on the freshman A and B teams.
The varsity team, coached by Miss Rochelle Rohlfs, has lost one game, with a record of 6-1. "We are coming along well. We have a young team, but itÕs a good thing," said senior varsity player Kristen Lebeda. They have most recently been ranked fourt h in the state by the Omaha World Herald.
The J.V. team is being coached by Miss Ronda Motykowski. Currently, their record is 0-1.
The reserve team, being coached by Mr. Tom Baker, has a record of 1-2. Liz Simon, sophomore reserve player said she enjoys having Mr. Baker as a coach. "HeÕs fun in practice, but we get our stuff done."
The freshman teams, coached by Ms. Amy Armbruster, have also been busy. The A team has a record of 2-0 and the B team has a record of 1-1.
The reserve team's next game is tonight at Bellevue East High School. The next games for the freshmen, varsity, and J.V. teams also take place tonight, but at Burke High School, starting at 4 pm. The season will run through November when the state com petition will take place in Lincoln.
