At "Light Night," Ms. White performed her solo act entitled "Mothers, Daughters, Wives, Women." The focus of this presentation was on "all sorts of stories from different women in different times and places."

Junior Susie Galata found Ms. White's presentation enjoyable. "I thought she was very entertaining, but I wish she could have shared more stories with us," she said.

Ms. White is also the mother of two, a son and a daughter. She believes that she had a very good relationship with her mother. "When I was a teenager, I began to see my mom less as an authority figure and more as a friend," she said.

She also thinks that her relationship with her own daughter is good, as well. "We have our differences and also a lot in common. She wants to be an actress," she said.

Born in Seattle, Wash. and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, Pippa White began acting in community theatre presentations and commercials at age 9. Being an actress was very important to her. "It [acting] was all I ever talked about when I was little," she said.

After she was trained at the American Conservatory Theatre Academy, she was the hostess of a daily morning show on ABC for five years.

When her husband got a job in Nebraska, Ms. White decided to pursue an education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and also wanted to start a family.
