Emotional Overload on the Walls of the Stalls
By Martha Kaskie and Kara Peetz
Yes...we go to an all girls school; our colors are navy blue and forest green, obvious through our darling uniform skirt. But have no worries, some girls manage to find something rebellious to do during an average school day. They feel that they cannot express their creativity the approved "Marian way". (The "Marian Way" is in all around good clean fun.)
You might be a little confused as to what our motivation is here. We acquired this knowledge through a two-minute potty break. We were both disgusted and fully entertained to discover that some girls loved life, some loved "Tom" (and other guys), and some hated life and everyone that surrounds them. No, we are not kidding. The graffiti on the walls of the stalls indeed provided entertainment and a few laughs (above and beyond the ones we get from the posted Student Board's toilet talk), but we were still a little repulsed! This is getting out of hand!
We hear a consensus that classes are too hard and the passing periods are too short. Yet some people put that aside when they grab for their pencil before entering the stall. This is where the emotional release evidently begins. All their feelings are somehow scrawled across the walls and trash cans of the stalls.
The toilet trash talk is going too far and the anger that lurks inside of some girls becomes show for 720 of the rest of us (Don't forget that visitors use our stalls, too!). It's rude, hurtful, and not needed in any way. We find it odd, with these complaints of classes being too hard and passing periods too short, that some have time to share this ridiculous information to all.
Our advice is this: for all of you that are feeling guilty at this point, buy a diary (maybe even with a lock), or if you feel you are too mature for a diary, buy a journal. Write your thoughts in one of these instead of destroying our beautiful school's bathrooms.
