Pug Bennett

Justin Titus "Pug" Bennett ws born in Ponca Nebraska in 1874. He played two years in the major leagues 1906 and 1907 for the St.Louis Cardinals. He was 32 years old when he made it to the major leagues. In all he played in 240 major league games and had a .248 lifetime average.

He started with the Toledo Mud Hens in 1900. From 1901 through 1904 he bounced around teh Southern Association, playing for Shreveport, New Orleans, Nashville and Atlanta. In 1905 he played part of the season with Nashville and part on the left coast with Seattle in the PCL.

After his two years in in the National League he was back on the west coast. He played in the Northwestern League with Seattle, Vancouver, Aberdeen and Great Falls. His last year was 1917.

He died in Kirkland Washington in 1935.
