Auburn is a most interesting town in southeast Nebraska. Originally there
was the town of Sheridan and that of Calvert. There was also the town of
St. George which was defunct by 1882. The two towns with two town centers
combined to form Auburn in 1882. The two towns are connected by Courthouse
road.
Auburn is a town of about 3,400 and it is the county seat of Nemaha county. Auburn was one of the charter members of the MINK league in 1910. The MINK league was a class "D" minor league. The town had a population of about 2,700 in 1910 as it entered the league. |

| The current ball park in Auburn is at the fairgrounds just like the park in 1910. Tushla Field has a grass infield and a well maintained set of stands. It is the home of the towns American Legion team. |
|
| Behind the ball park is a small walking park with a pond. The tree lined serpentine walk is a great space, well designed and well maintained. |
